Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert Kiyosaki

Best Business Books would include without hesitation Robert Kiyosaki’s “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” recommends Doris Hullett.

Robert Kiyosaki, author of “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” was instrumental in creating a mind shift for me personally as I discovered his book which detailed his life journey regarding money and mindset taught by his ‘two dads.’

Kiyosaki explains how his “two dads” guided his upbringing and thought process on how money was taught, perceived, and related from two different economic classes: the rich class, and the middle class.

His ‘Rich Dad’ explained his philosophy of money from the view of freedom, abundance and solution-based principles. Robert Kiyosaki expounds, “My rich dad used to say ‘You can never have true freedom without financial freedom. He would go on to say, Freedom may be free, but it has a price.”

To his rich dad, several things of personal importance included:
l. Having lots of time to raise his kids.
2. Having money to donate to charities and projects he supported.
3. Being able to travel the world with his family.

Kiyosaki’s ‘rich dad’ elaborated, “Those things take money, and that is why money is important to me…” It was the freedom that money brought him to accomplish his goals.

In contrast, his ‘poor dad’ represented to a large extent the mindset and philosophy which permeates in our current middle-class society. ‘Poor dad’ spoke of how important it was to “Go to school/college, get a good education, get good grades, and then find a safe secure job.”

These are honorable and excellent in thought, but our society evolved as well; an education will leave you in tremendous financial debt which takes years to eliminate, and the safe secure job is of an era which no longer exists today.

As mentioned in Rich Dad Poor Dad, the thought and mindset that harbors this philosophy is that of:
l.   “I’ll never be rich”
2. “I can’t afford it”.
3. “Investing is risky.”
4. “Money isn’t everything”.

Rich Dad Poor Dad not only is an intriguing personal life story of Robert Kiyosaki, but a revealing book on the mindset of the rich, the middle class, and the importance of financial education for yourself so you too can have the financial freedom you seek in your life.

Robert Kiyosaki, and his story enlightened and inspired me to seek the financial freedom and independence of becoming an entrepreneur and business woman.

Realize you don’t need stellar grades, a college education or to be a financial genius to change your financial path to freedom. Coinciding with our celebration for freedom and independence on the 4th of July, Independence Day, become motivated by the truths of Robert Kiyosaki to create your own personal independence and financial education/freedom in these days of uncertain economic times.

I wholeheartedly recommend as one of the best business books for personal growth/business development, Robert Kiyosaki’s book, “Rich Dad Poor Dad.”
